I’m Addie.

I am a writer, tarot card reader and ancestral healer living in Central Texas, land once stewarded by Tonkawa, Comanche and Lipan Apache people.

For more than twenty years, I was a newspaper journalist and food writer. In my weekly column, I explored community, connection, and personal growth through the lens of food.

Healing my family roots and ancestral wounds became the “why” of my work.

And then I found tarot.

Tarot cards have been used as a form of folk psychology for more than 500 years. With a long history in Europe, particularly among the Romani, who have suffered greatly to carry on the practice, all 78 of the tarot cards have medicine, including the Death card, which is one of my favorites. (And thus the name of my business.)

I now use these cards and the questions they ask as part of my ancestral healing work — which also uses art, music, nature and our real and imagined family trees to get a new perspective on grief, codependency, humility and strength.

This work dramatically transformed my life.

Now I work with people who want to transform their lives, too.

Is that you?

If you’ve never had a tarot reading, this process might surprise you.

How does it work?

Step 1: You book an appointment.

Step 2: We meet via video chat or in person.

Step 3: We talk for a bit and then center ourselves with a few deep breaths. I pull 3 to 4 cards and talk about each of the cards, what they mean and how you might apply that energy to your life. No fortune-telling involved.

Step 4: Both of us marvel at the ways the universe reveals our truth.
